DPM Teo Chee Hean: Analysing big data from different angles to improve quality of life

24 Jan 2017

Channel 8 News, 23 Jan 2017 - News clip featured the National Science Experiment (NSE) Big Data Challenge where students formed groups to analyse the data collected by the SENSg device and presented their findings. Over four consecutive days last year, nearly 5,000 students from 92 institutions wore the device which can record the temperature, pressure, sound and other data from the environment. A group of SP students from the School of Digital Media and Infocomm Technology emerged as the winner in the tertiary category. They presented their findings that students who exercise frequently are generally happier and the group presented suggestions on how schools can help alleviate the stress faced by the students. James Pang Jun Jie, who was one of the members, hoped that schools could consider their proposal. Similar story was reported by Capital 95.8.
