Eight career guidance centres in polys, ITE by January

The Straits Times, 31 Oct 2015 - Speaking at an Education and Career Guidance (ECG) seminar at NYP yesterday, Acting Minister for Education (Schools) Ng Chee Meng said that eight EGC centres will be set up in all polys and ITES by January 2016. NYP, NP and TP have already set up the centres which aims to provide students with advice and information on career and education paths. The Ministry of Education (MOE) has also deployed the first 50 ECG counsellors to secondary schools, junior colleges, the ITE and polytechnics and the number will rise to 100 by 2017. Dr Evelyn Louis, an ECG counsellor at SP opined on the latest efforts by MOE to help students make an informed choice in their education and career pathways.
