Engineers use skills and know-how for good causes

11 Aug 2014

The Straits Times, 11 Aug – A volunteer group called Engineers without Borders Asia will be launched this Saturday. The group aims to apply their skills to service projects such as cleaning up a Sri Lankan lake or modifying the button on toys so disabled children can use them easily. Article also explores how new or existing volunteer programmes in unis or polys also allow students to apply their skills to benefit the community. One example mentioned is SP’s Centre for Application in Rehabilitation Engineering (SP CARE). SP Chief Technology Officer, Mr Lance Lim, explained how the 21-year old SP CARE has evolved over the years.
