Enhanced internships for Singapore Poly students

13 Mar 2017

The New Paper, 11 Mar 2017 - SP signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with six social and community service agencies to roll out enhanced internship programmes for the Diploma in Applied Drama with Psychology (DADP) students. Students will be assigned a mentor and will also receive clearer learning objectives created by SP and the respective agencies. Final year DADP student Bryan Tan was among a group of students who went on a pilot 18-week enhanced internship last year. During his internship with Sheng Hong Family Service Centre, he was tasked to observe and assess various families during case sessions and home visits, while applying the psychology theories he learnt in his course. Ms June Wee, DADP course manager, shared that from now to September, they hope to get more partners on board the enhanced internship programme. Mrs Sara Tan, executive director for Society of Sheng Hong Welfare Services, one of the agencies that signed the MOU, opined on the benefits of the enhanced internships for the company.
