Fighting cyber-crime one app at a time

Scoop.co.nz- 22 Oct 2014 - Four SP Diploma in Infocomm Security Management students will be doing their internship at the Victoria University of Wellington this summer. They will work with Dr Ian Welch, a lecturer in the university’s school of engineering and computer science to develop software to protect online programmes from malicious software or malware such as viruses or spyware. The internship is part of a partnership between Victoria University and SP. As well as providing advice, Dr Welch will be helping the students to test their programmes against real cyber threats using malware samples created by cyber criminals.
