Hey! The NTU Magazine, Jul-Aug 2016 - Article featured SP alumnus Nigel Tan who graduated from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) with a first-class honours in materials engineering this year and is now working as a research engineer with NTU. This top ‘N’ level student was determined to do well to make life better for his family after his father became bankrupt when he was in primary school. Since his parents’ divorce in 2000, Nigel had to juggle many jobs and school, on top of cleaning house and looking after his two younger sisters.
