He blamed himself for mother’s death

30 Dec 2014

The New Paper, 30 Dec 2014 - SP’s Diploma in Biotechnology student, Julian Sng, shared how he was inspired to pursue his course due to a personal tragedy. Julian lost his mother to breast cancer when he was six. The incident inspired him to take up biotechnology, as this particular field of medicine deals with the development of new drugs and medical treatments. Even though Julian was offered a place in a junior college, biotechnology remained his calling as he wanted to give back to society, by working as a stem cell researcher and developing innovative ways to treat cancer. For more information on SP’s biotechnology course, viewers can visit the SP Open House from 8 – 10 Jan.
