Channel 8, 28 Oct 2015 - The weekly “Three Secrets of Every Job” segment of Hello Singapore news programme featured SP’s Diploma in Perfumery and Cosmetic Science (DPCS). The segment starts from 33:00. SP’s DPCS Course Chair Low Bee Lee and DPCS third-year student Elton Lai who were invited as guests for the news programme shared interesting facts about the course as well as the future career paths. Elton also introduced the types of perfume created by SP students briefly and conducted a simple perfume experiment together with the hosts to showcase an example of what they will learn from the course. The film footage in the programme featured a street survey where people were asked to evaluate the smell and guess the brand of the perfume before revealing that it was the Splash perfume created by students for SP’s 60th anniversary. Members of the public did not know there was a DPCS course in Singapore and that students could create such amazing perfumes. The programme also featured the Perfumery and Cosmetic Science Centre and the facilities within as well as simple experiments that DPCS students conduct as part of their curriculum.
