New design brings a ray of hope

The solar car, SunSPEC4, was conceptualized and built entirely by students and staff from the schools of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering. SP’s Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering student, Syamsul Arifin, shared how the poly and major sponsor Singapore Power gave the team more support to rebuild the solar car within a month after the original was damaged in a fire. Syamsul’s team mate from the Diploma in Aerospace Electronics course, Muhammad Taufik, opined on the joy and achievement of taking part in the upcoming race after the setback.
