Please Don’t Stop The Music

Teenage, Nov 2015 - This SP advertorial features the Diploma in Music and Audio Technology (DMAT) course which just celebrated its 10th birthday. The course started out with just 40 students in 2005 and is now one of Singapore’s most well-known and popular music diploma courses, producing almost 400 aspiring musicians. The advertorial also features graduate Wong Ay Shyuan, student Khairul Ridzwan and course chair Michael Spicer from the DMAT course. Ay Shyuan (also known as V’bel) launched her debut album in her final year with SPear, the record label owned by DMAT and is now the protégé of violinist Qian Zhou, who is Head of Strings at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music. Khairul shared how the course has helped him realise his dreams. Course chair Michael Spicer who launched the DMAT course back in 2005, shared the possible careers and manpower needs of the music industry.
