Renowned German training for poly grads

The Straits Times, 12 August 2014 - Some 101 students from SP and NYP applied for the first round of eight scholarships offered by four German small and medium-sized enterprises that are global leaders in their specific niches. Under the scholarship, graduates will go through an intensive German language course and alternate between semesters of work and study with the companies that sponsor their scholarship. The work-study scholarships which is initiated by the Economic Development Board aims to develop innovative and skilled engineers. More German firms are expected to come on board over the next few years and more scholarships will be available. SP’s DARE graduate, Mr Pang Shun Toll who has accepted the scholarship from Pepperl+Fuchs, a leader in electronic sensors, was featured in the article. He opined on how the unique scholarship will benefit his future career. A NYP precision engineering graduate was also featured in the article.
