Scholarship winner recalls her experience with leukaemia

The New Paper, 22 Aug - Despite suffering from leukemia at seven and serious injuries due to a fall in secondary school, SP’s Diploma in Information Technology student, Nur Azila Azman did not let the setbacks stop her from pursuing her passion in Information Technology. Yesterday, she was one of 55 recipients of the Infocomm Integrated Scholarship awarded by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore. The scholarship recognizes poly and uni students who have done well in their studies related to Information Technology. The scholarship includes an annual allowance of $ 6,000 to cover daily expenses and an allowance of $ 1,500 for a personal computer. Nur Azila opined that the scholarship will ease the burden on her parents and allow them to focus on her younger siblings’ needs. Similar story was reported in Berita Harian.
