Science opens up opportunities for food innovation

Berita Harian, 15 Mar 2016 - Article focused on the collaboration between FIRC and small and medium enterprises (SME), including Muslim companies. Centre Director of FIRC, Ngan-Loong Mann Na noted that since inception in 2007, FIRC has since helped 500 companies run 850 projects. Through food technologists, FIRC works with companies to undertake projects such as creating food, improving food quality, extending the life of food and developing automated machines. Companies who utilize FIRC’s services can apply for government grants offered by Spring Singapore such as the Innovation Credit scheme and Capability (ICV) worth $ 5,000 and Capability Development Grant (CDG) to finance up to 70 percent of project costs.
