Singapore Polytechnic Graduation Showcase 2016: Film discusses issue of depression

Berita Harian, 21 Mar 2016 - Article featured the film Semi;, a final-year project by students from SP’s Diploma in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics (DVEMG). The film which was screened at Render 2016, the graduation showcase for students from the School of Digital Media and Information Technology, aims to raise awareness on depression. The film is based on the real-life experiences of DVEMG student Mohamed Syamil Mohamed Shah, and his struggles with the medical condition over the years. Syamil who is also the film’s producer hopes that Semi; will allow viewers to better understand depression and empathise with the struggles that sufferers go through. Article also mentioned that Semi; received an award in the 48 Hour Challenge last year, where teams had to produce a film within 48 hours.
