Sixth group of food tech students graduate at Singapore campus

Scoop.co.nz, 20 Nov 2015 - Article by an online news portal in New Zealand featured the graduation ceremony for Bachelor of Food Technology with Honours programme at Massey University’s Singapore campus. Article mentioned that the programme was launched in 2008 in Singapore in partnership with SP and entrants to this programme are top polytechnic students who have completed their diplomas in food science related courses. During the ceremony, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the College of Health Professor Paul McDonald thanked SP for the successful collaboration that allowed SP students to complete this degree which is recognised around the world. Associate Professor Dr Kelvin Goh, who manages the programme at the Singapore campus, listed examples of how graduates from this programme are well sought after in the food industry. Article also mentioned that 192 students have graduated from this programme in the last seven years and are highly sought after for technical and management positions in the food industry in Singapore and South East Asia as well as New Zealand and around the world. The programme has also produced nine graduates who continued on to postgraduate studies, mostly at the PhD level in New Zealand.
