Adapting to home-based learning

Article highlighted how polytechnic students and lecturers are coping with home-based learning (HBL). TP’s design student, Whitney Tan, shared about her challenges with HBL. SP’s Infocomm Security Management lecturer, Dora Chua, shared how she worked around certain modules that previously required physical interaction with equipment. For example, she used a software simulator instead of hardware sensors in a lab to teach in her Internet Of Things module. TP’s senior business lecturer, Sheila Sim, shared that she saw better punctuality and higher attendance rates among students who had attendance issues in previous semesters, along with more assignments being turned in on time, and better quality of work.
