Community networks also vital in helping tackle social issues

06 Aug 2018

During a ministerial community visit to Sembawang GRC yesterday, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, Ms Indranee Rajah, spoke to residents such as SP’s chemical engineering student, Mr Mohammad Azahari Abdul Razak. The 37-year-old, who is a former offender, shared how his difficult family circumstances had led him into bad company. He also suggested that families in dire straits should have people to befriend and support them. Ms Indranee added that her conversation with Mr Azahari was very insightful as it helped her understand that families with difficulties need moral and all-round support from the community.
