From EM3 to PhD: A*Star researcher scored 124 for PSLE

Article featured SP’s Diploma in Biotechnology graduate Dr Vincent Lim, and his journey to obtaining his PhD. He was an EM3 pupil in primary school and a Normal (Academic) student in secondary school. He shared about his low self-esteem when he compared himself to his peers, and worked hard to overcome his limitations back when he was an SP student. He later graduated with first class honours from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) where he read biology, and obtained his PhD in Medicine (Research) from Dundee University in Scotland. Today, he holds a PhD in medical research and is a research fellow at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research's (A*Star) Institute of Medical Biology. He gave advice to students who are struggling academically. (The Straits Times, pB2)
