Article featured SP’s Diploma in Infocomm Security Management student, Li Yi Teng who was awarded the Gold Award at the Student Volunteer and Recognition Programme Awards Ceremony for his active participation in cyber security volunteer activities. Out of the 97 awards that were conferred, only five of them were Gold Awards, which required the winners to have served at least 150 hours, an average of nearly three hours per week. The 19 year old, who is currently interning at the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) was recognised for leading the Cloud Computing Special Interest Group under the Cyber Youth Singapore National Programme (Cyber Youth Singapore) and also for conducting cloud computing workshops in the cyber security volunteer group "Division Zero". When interviewed, Li Yi Teng said: "Participating in volunteer activities has taught me communication skills. After all, mastering knowledge and imparting knowledge to others are two different things."
