Article shared tips by principals and experts of post-secondary institutions on what to consider when choosing a junior college or polytechnic after ‘O’ Levels. SP’s Assistant Director of the Department of Student Services, Regina Lim, encouraged students to adopt a ‘challenge mindset’ approach which guides them to look beyond course names and job titles. This will help them identify their purpose and career of choice. The article also mentioned that selected students in some diploma courses can also take some university modules that count towards their graduation requirements. As an example, students from SP’s School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering may be offered modules in the National University of Singapore or the Singapore University of Technology and Design. Regina said that such programmes give students opportunities to experience university life as well as industrial attachments to companies and government agencies.
