How the 73.5 billion infant formula industry milks new parents’ anxieties, and what S’pore is doing about it

SP School of Business senior lecturer Leung Sau Yee opined that plain packaging, on formula milk products, may take things to the extreme if it removes important information that parents want to know about. A possible solution would be to have governments or consumer watchdogs play a more active role in testing products in the market. She added that Hong Kong’s Consumer Council tests such products in the market, and shares its findings on any exaggerated claims and food safety issues.
