In Singapore’s online news landscape, what is the alternative?

Article highlighted the social media study conducted by SP’s diploma in media & communication students, which was released in January this year. The survey found that respondents who preferred consuming news over the Internet, primarily using social media, had the lowest current affairs knowledge. One of the students behind the study, Sammi Poo, shared that social media makes it easier for her to stumble upon news shared by friends, but it may not be the most accurate if it is not from actual news outlets.
