New Kampung Senang centre at Yuhua to provide mobility aids for seniors and disadvantaged

15 Nov 2020

Eco-conscious charity Kampung Senang, which champions sustainable and healthy living, has launched a new centre at Yuhua. The charity will also work with SP’s School of Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering(MAE) on a 5-day course to equip caregivers and members of the public with skills and knowledge to maintain and repair wheelchairs. MAE Director, Dr Chong Chee Wei, shared that the course will be launched in March next year and the target is to train 50 – 100 individuals. Dr Chong also shared that there is a lack of individuals with the skills to repair and maintain wheelchairs in Singapore and the course aims to meet the demand while contributing to the community.
