Overseas programmes give SP students practical learning experience

07 Nov 2023

Ms Nur Shazriqah Atsani’s involvement in an overseas programme in Batam, Indonesia, contributed to a deeper understanding of engineering and technology exchange, in line with the goals of the SP collaboration with the Batam State Polytechnic (Polibatam). The collaboration between the two institutions was announced on 2 November at the SP Convention Centre, in addition to collaboration with two other overseas Institutes of Higher Education (IHL). Ms Shazriqah is currently undergoing a six-month internship, where she builds robots and does coding for robotics projects. While at Polibatam, Ms Shazriqah and approximately 19 other third-year students had the opportunity to witness project-based learning in action and gain insights into self-directed learning methods. On 2 November, SP held its annual Regional Industry Network Conference (RINC) 2023 where it announced a new partnership with a leading overseas international IHL to provide overseas exposure to SP students. Organised by the SP School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) since 2002, the theme of the 2023 engineering conference is 'Engineering the Future – Sustainable Transformation via Innovation'.
