Poly students win the Most Innovative Award for their idea to use coffee grounds to make solid fuel at the RHBHacks 2022

Article featured four SP students who won the Most Innovative Award at RHBHacks 2022 competition with their idea to turn coffee grounds into solid fuel. The competition’s theme this year is ‘Creativity in Sustainability’. Chen Quanzhi, one of the SP students in the winning team, said that they discovered the flammability of coffee grounds while drying them and decided to develop innovative and environmentally friendly ways to use it to make solid fuels, scented candles and other products. The winning team will be selling candles made of coffee grounds and promoting the use of coffee ground solid fuel as a new type of environmental friendly fuel.
