Reduce indoor temperature

SP’s School of Architecture & the Built Environment Lecturer and Senior Manager, Lim Chun Keat, shared tips on cooling down the tropical home. He discussed how the wind direction throughout the year will affect the sun’s rays and prevent overheating in the house. He explained that HDB flats are designed with ventilation in mind, and residents will be able to enjoy the breeze that is directed through the planned construction. Chun Keat also shared how we can check on meteorological websites for the wind’s direction for the week, and adjust our window openings accordingly, to bring in extra ventilation. He also shared tips on furniture arrangements to boost ventilation, and how we can save on electricity while enjoying a cooler environment. By making this a habit, we can play a part in improving climate change.
