The five local polytechnics have improved their courses in response to market demand

29 Dec 2023

In recent years, the five local polytechnics have improved their courses in response to market demand, aiming to improve students' employability. SP and NYP have introduced a Professional Diploma in Intelligence Applications and Analytics. Starting next year, freshmen studying the Electrical and Electronic Engineering course at SP can also focus on the new specialisation option of "Sustainable Energy" in their second year. TP also plans to add generative artificial intelligence content to design courses starting next year, and some courses will also introduce elective subjects related to sustainable development. Through a collaborative partnership, NP will work with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to allow students to use the generative AI platform developed by AWS and have the opportunity to receive industry certificates from the AWS Academy. Some students can also intern in AWS for a year. The two parties have also jointly set up a centre on campus to provide training and consulting services related to generative AI in the future. Cambridge O Level examination results will be released next month. Each polytechnic will hold open days and introductory classes from 4 to 6 January next year.
