Fatin Nur Syaza Rosli’s interest in the maritime sector began when she heard about the interesting stories and modules studied by her senior who took the course at SP. This prompted her to choose SP’s Diploma in Maritime Business. Throughout her studies at SP, she was consistent with her academic achievements and managed to achieve the highest GPA and receive several awards. Among them was an award from the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) when Fatin emerged as one of the top three students in her cohort. Recently, she was recognised with a Gold Medal by the MPA for her outstanding overall achievements. Her determination and hard work paid off when she was selected as valedictorian at the SP graduation held on 3 May. Fatin said: "Every day I will spend maybe at least two hours reading my notes. This is so that I can remember what I learned in school." She plans to further her studies at Plymouth University. Another graduate who received a diploma this year was Khairunnisa Syafiqah Nadiah Muhammad. She graduated with a Diploma in Interior Design. Khairunnisa and Fatin were among more than 5,400 diploma, advanced diploma, and specialist diploma graduates of SP this year. With that cohort of graduates, it makes the SP alumni network the largest among polytechnics in the country with over 235,000 former students. SP is also celebrating its 70th anniversary this year.
