Green technology and industrial innovation are what the future economy needs. In response to new trends, SP and NP have added specialisation options such as artificial intelligence and sustainable energy to cultivate the professional talents needed by the industry. Sun Lei (孙磊), a lecturer in the Department of Information Technology at NP, said: “Generative artificial intelligence can quickly transform your ideas into your products. Our school’s Generative Artificial Intelligence Centre provides students with such a platform to let them master the latest technology." SP, on the other hand, focuses on digital transformation, green technology, and industrial innovation, and its School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) has set up an option for students to study sustainable energy this year. Deputy Senior Director of the SP Engineering cluster and Director of School of EEE, Dr Lim Joo Ghee (林如义), said: "Because the course focuses on the skills and technologies demanded by Singapore's future economy, our students interact with companies and industries in this aspect, and most students have the opportunity to go abroad to enhance their experience.” SP has also collaborated with NUS and SUTD to allow students to take university subjects. These credits will be included in the polytechnic's grades and will also be recognised by these two universities in the future. Similar news reported in Channel 8, Channel 8, and Channel U.
