Q1: I didn't get any email/SMS about my aptitude test. Does that mean I didn't make it?
A: First, check your spam or junk folder! If you still can't find it, drop us an email at SP_MAD@sp.edu.sg .
Q2: I missed the deadline for portfolio submission. Can I get an extension?
A: Unfortunately, we can't accept anything after the deadline has passed. We'll only review what was submitted on time to keep things fair for everyone.
Q3: If I update my portfolio last minute, will interviewers see the changes?
A: Once the deadline has passed, please don't make any changes to your portfolio. The panel will only review what was submitted by the deadline, so any updates made after won't be seen or considered.
Q4: I used a different email during the portfolio submission / aptitude test.
A: Please write in to SP_MAD@sp.edu.sg if you have used a different email during the test.
Q5: I accidentally submitted the Google Form twice. Which one will you look at?
A: No worries! We'll use your latest submission as the final version. The earlier one will be ignored.
Q6: Can I submit my portfolio as a website, Canva link, Google Sites, Behance, or PowerPoint?
A: Yup! Any format works as long as the link is accessible, viewable, and submitted before the deadline. If submitting a Google Drive, Doc, or presentation slides link, make sure sharing/security is set to "Anyone with the link" or your portfolio will not be reviewed, as our reviewers cannot access it.
Q7: What should I wear for the aptitude test / Interview?
A: You don't need to wear your school uniform. Smart casual is fine! Just avoid things like short shorts or spaghetti strap tops.
Q8: Can I use an iPad instead of a laptop to show my portfolio?
A: Sure! You can use an iPad or any portable device that helps you showcase your work.
Q9: Can I reschedule my aptitude test / interview?
A: Rescheduling requests are reviewed case by case. You'll need official documents like an MC, exam notice or other supporting documents to support your request. Email your official documents to SP_MAD@sp.edu.sg
Q10: I missed the aptitude test / interview because I didn't see the email. Can I get a makeup session?
A: Rescheduling requests are reviewed case by case. You'll need official documents like an MC or exam notice to support your request. Write to us stating reasons, and your official documents to SP_MAD@sp.edu.sg for the panel’s evaluation.
Q11: I didn't get an interview email. Does that mean I'm out?
A: Not necessarily! The panel is still evaluating applications, and not everyone gets an interview. But don't worry, all applicants will hear about their EAE outcome during the Offer & Acceptance stage in early September. If you don't make it this time, you can still apply through other admission pathways to pursue your interest at SP DMAD. Good luck with your exams!
Q12: If I didn't get selected for DMAD, will I be informed of my EAE application results?
A: Applicants will receive notification of the release of the Poly EAE posting results via email and sms. Successful applicants are to confirm the acceptance of their offers through the online portal. A non-response will be deemed as a rejection of the offer.
Q13: I didn't get my preferred course. Can I appeal?
A: Unfortunately, there's no appeal process for EAE. But don't lose hope! Continue to work hard and you can apply for DMAD via other admission pathways. We have had many existing student and alumni who have went through similar experiences, and entered DMAD via JAE or JPAE.
Q14: When will I know if I have been accepted into MAD through EAE?
A: Outcomes for the Poly EAE Application are released according to the official EAE timeline, and applicants will be notified via email and SMS.
Applicants will only see one EAE offer, based on the highest ranked course that has selected them.
Applicants with a preference for DMAD (S29) are encouraged to consider placing it as their first choice during the application period.
Successful applicants who accept their offer will secure a place in the course, provided the stated entry requirements are met.
Sound and Music – Audition and Interview Enquiries
Q15: For Sound & Music, do I have to submit original music, or can I send performances, covers, or other music projects?
A: Original work is encouraged but not required! You can also submit performances, covers, or other music projects.
Q16: For Sound & Music, do my two pieces need to be 3 minutes each, or 3 minutes total?
A: Both pieces together should be 3 minutes max (not 3 minutes each!).
Q17: For Sound & Music, what counts as "contrasting styles"?
A: Think of it as showing variety! This could mean:
• Different genres (like classical vs pop)
• Different tempos or techniques
• Distinct musical vibes
• Different performance formats
Q18: For Sound & Music, can I sing, play instruments, or use backing tracks?
A: Yes to all! Singing and playing instruments are allowed, and you can use backing tracks where it makes sense.
Q19: For Sound & Music, can I play multiple instruments?
A: Sure! Just make sure you stay within the 3-minute time limit.
Q20: For Sound & Music, do vocalists need to do sight-reading and improvisation?

Q21: For Sound & Music, what instruments and equipment will be available?
A: We usually have a piano and drum kit ready. For anything else, you'll need to bring it yourself.
Q22: For Sound & Music, can I perform religious music, Chinese songs, or genre mashups?
A: Absolutely! We're looking at your musicality, not the genre you choose.
