This module will provide students with an understanding of the fundamental accounting principles underlying accounting practice, from the preparation of accounting records to the financial statements of a company. It will also cover accounting for cash, property, plant and equipment as well as Goods and Services Tax. Students will learn how to analyse and interpret a simple set of financial statements for a company.

The module equips students with the fundamentals of business through the context of venture creation. Students will work in teams to conceive and develop proof of concepts on feasible businesses which they will carry out in BETA2. The module aims to develop students with knowledge and skills in Design Thinking and Fundamentals of Marketing where they get the opportunity to conduct empathy studies, engage in ideation and prototyping of their product/ services offerings. Through which, students learn how value propositions of their business ideas can be supported by the 4Ps of a marketing plan. Students will also get the opportunity to present their ideas to a panel of judges as they acquire presentation skills and develop confidence in presentations.

Technology is changing the way banks operate and deliver products to consumers. This module incorporates technology and applications such as RPA (Robotic Process Automation), Python coding and Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications to develop a computational mindset. Students will be introduced to the relevant concepts and work on solving practical problems, including writing simple Python programmes, understanding fundamentals of AI and RPA.

Provides students with the essential features of spreadsheet to support data analysis for business applications. Topics covered include spreadsheet applications, fundamental data analysis, professional presentations and proper documentation. This module will impart the necessary skills to analyse worksheet data, apply fundamental data analysis techniques to improve productivity and streamline their day-to-day operational work. Equipped with these fundamentals, students will be able to apply these skills to construct business and financial models for today’s fast changing business environment.

This module is a continuation from BETA1 where focus is placed on implementing and operating a business upon the conceived ideas. A start-up fund will be awarded to each group to help them actualise their business. Through the implementation and operating of businesses, students get to apply the skills and knowledge on Business Negotiation, Management and HR Practices as they work with suppliers and business partners, manage conflicts within their teams, conduct performance appraisals and reflect on their own experiences through an Entrepreneurship Thought and Action (ET&A) approach adapted from Babson College. With a deliberate intent to build an awareness around sustainability and corporate social responsibility, student groups get to donate their profits from the businesses to charitable organisations at the end of the module.

Provides foundation for students to be equipped with quantitative skills, understanding of basic statistical concepts and their relevance in business. It is designed to train students with the statistical research skills from data analysis through manual means and software, data representation and interpretation that will allow them to make informed decisions. The statistical problem-solving process is taught as a method in addressing business-related statistical problems. Topics covered include descriptive statistics, probability distributions, sampling, estimation, hypothesis testing, analysis of variance, and linear regression.

Economics will provide students with an understanding of the micro and macroeconomic concepts and applications which are needed in decision-making processes in the business world. It also enables students to have a better understanding and appreciation of the larger economic environment that they are facing.

Acquire the skills needed to write in clear and concise English to effectively communicate an intended message to your target audience. Apply these skills when writing for specific contexts, such as scenarios related to the SDGs.

Work in multi-disciplinary groups to apply design thinking methods, backed by research and qualitative data, to tackle local sustainable issues mapped to the SDGs. Tap into knowledge and skills learnt in CCC modules to create innovative prototypes for real-life issues faced by local communities.

Students will be brought through an overview of consumer research principles, techniques and tools to gather consumer insights for data-driven marketing. The module emphasizes on applied skills in research design, questionnaire design, data collection and fieldwork management, data analysis, data storytelling, and communication of research insights.

This module focuses on the essentials of Business and Operations, aiming for excellence and value creation within organizations and for their customers. It emphasizes Lean principles to boost productivity and efficiency in the manufacturing of goods and service delivery, all while upholding quality. The curriculum covers important areas such as forecasting, layout planning, capacity and material planning, and sustainability, crucial for operational excellence. Combining lectures, tutorials, and interactive activities, including business simulations on platforms like MonsoonSim, participants will address operational challenges using a basic tool like MS Excel. This method ensures a practical application of theoretical knowledge in real-world contexts.

Introduces students to the fundamentals of business analytics concepts, and an overview of the levels of business analytics, from descriptive to predictive to prescriptive. Students will learn how to effectively use analytics tools to interpret analytic models and results for making better and more wellinformed business decisions. Students will also understand the emerging role of business analytics in business.

Developing Enterprise Learning Through Action (DELTA) fosters interdisciplinary applied learning. Guided by lecturers and leveraging skills from business and domain core modules, students craft business plans for patent-pending inventions from SP’s Technology, Innovation and Enterprise (TIE) unit and various Innovation Centres in SP. Progressing from problem statement ideation to execution, students will conduct market research and feasibility studies, set sustainable objectives, ideate financial models, run risk assessments, and develop implementation plans. This hands-on experience hones critical skills like problem-solving, strategic thinking, and project management - valuable assets for anyone navigating today's competitive landscape, enhancing their readiness for the future.

This module provides students with real-world scenarios to develop and create their own digital commerce businesses. Through guided instruction, students will learn about branding and digital commerce development, honing their skills in establishing a compelling web presence and effectively marketing their products or services using seller’s platform. Additionally, the module will focus on user design, engagement, conversion, and traffic generation, equipping students with the essential skills for the digital marketplace.

In this module, students will learn about emerging technologies such as AI, gaining insights into their impact on various aspects of businesses. Students will gain an understanding of customer experience (CX) practices, service design strategies, optimising customer management processes, designing conversion funnels, implementing loyalty programs, and deploying retention techniques.

This module will help unlock the secret of successful digital marketing strategy. Student will gain comprehensive insights into channels, analytics, and content strategies to maximize their marketing presence.  Students will learn how to understand, analyse their brands, and consumer journey. With this knowledge they can build the strategy looking at Omnichannel landscape but focussing on where their customers are. Once Strategy and channels is in place, what is important as a next step, is to set goals and metrics to align with business objectives. Execution comes next followed by crucial analysis and measurement of the goals and metrics that were set and evaluating the success of any campaign.

This module is designed to empower students with the essential skills to develop and grow a brand including strategic brand positioning, brand auditing, and fostering brand growth through community engagement. Additionally, they will learn how to ensure brand resilience amidst evolving economic and consumer dynamics, equipping themselves to be the brand architects of tomorrow. Students will also be exposed to numerous case studies and real-life brand anecdotes, providing them with practical insights and industry-relevant knowledge, preparing them to pursue rewarding careers in branding, marketing, advertising, and related fields, making a significant impact in the global marketplace.

This module focuses on business processes and their digital transformation through Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Students will learn to perform process mapping for "As-Is" and "To-Be" scenarios using software tools, understanding the significance of digitalisation and ERP in business operations. The curriculum covers the application of ERP systems in sales, purchasing, and inventory management, and the role of digital transformation in achieving business outcomes.

This module provides students with an understanding on sustainable practices in global trade and logistics, the critical role of economic efficiency and strategies to promote environmental responsibility, and social impact in global supply chains.  Key topics covered include the fundamentals of international trade, including customs regulations, trade agreements, global trade networks, transportation and warehouse management. Students will understand the strategies for reducing carbon footprint in global shipping, optimising transport networks to minimise environmental impact, and implementing sustainable warehouse practices

Commences with the basic features of the Singapore legal system. It then proceeds to introduce students to the basic principles of contract law, the Sale of Goods Act, the law of tort, cheques, agency and intellectual property. The legal aspects of business organisations will also be covered.

This semester-long supervised final year project module will require students to formulate a business proposal in response to a real problem or client project of an industry partner in the student’s chosen business specialisation (Digital Enterprise & Innovation, Digital Marketing & Analytics, or International Trade & Business). Students will work in teams and will adopt agency-style of handling their industry client. They will apply design thinking, analytics, research, and problem-solving skills accumulated and developed from all other modules to help solve their client’s problem and challenges. This applied module strives for a holistic integration and application of the students’ skills and understanding before they graduate.

In this module, students will collaborate with peers from regardless of specialisation to work on a Social-Impact Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)-related project.

This module explores key concepts of business intelligence, sales, and customer relationship management (CRM). Students will learn about measuring and analysing key performance indicators for organizational success. Additionally, this module equips students with essential skills in financial reporting and provides recommendations to drive strategic decision-making. Students will be able to use data-driven insights to optimise sales strategies, elevate customer relationships, and foster business growth.

In the digital era, marketing has evolved into a data-driven science, requiring a profound understanding of digital platforms. This module serves as a gateway for students to master the art of harnessing digital data. It takes them on a journey through the world of search marketing and digital analytics, equipping them with the necessary strategies and tools to craft impactful marketing campaigns. Students will learn to maximize marketing impact across various digital platforms, blending creativity with analytics for optimal results.

This advanced module will let students discover the ways in which technology has transformed the global supply chain. They will learn about Industry 4.0 technologies such as IoT, AI, AR, VR, Blockchain and their applications in the Supply Chain Management context. Student will be involved in hands-on projects in a variety of areas with a strong focus on robotics and automation.
