CoC Class 2 / 1 Deck Preparatory Course
| COURSE AIMS | This course prepares Class 3 Certificate of Competency Deck Officers for the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) Class 1 & 2 Certificate of Competency examinations. Upon successful completion, candidates will be eligible to register for the MPA oral and simulator examinations for CoC Class 2 Deck Officer certification. The program meets STCW requirements and is recognised internationally. | |

| WITHDRAWAL AND DEFERMENT | Withdrawal notice must be made in writing to Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA) via email to Lalitha_Devi_S_SELVAM@sp.edu.sg. The Singapore Polytechnic reserves the right to amend the fees charged or the period and duration of the courses. | |

| EXAMINATIONS & FEES | Upon successful completion of the COC Class 1 & 2 written examinations, students are required to register for the COC Class 2 Simulator & Oral examinations conducted by MPA at the Integrated Simulation Centre and Shipping Division. | ENTRY REQUIREMENTS | Applicants are to produce LOE from MPA. A sea-time of at least 12 months as a watchkeeping officer holding COC Class 3. | ENROLMENT | Applicants are required to upload their passport copy during registration. | |
| VISA REQUIREMENTS | Step 1: Applicant submits completed application form together with full course fees. Step 2: About 2 months prior to commencement of the course, SMA will submit the application for Student Pass at Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA) website to generate a SOLAR (Student's Pass On-line Application & Registration) number. Step 3: This SOLAR number and accompanying instructions from ICA website will be forwarded to the applicant via email by SMA. Step 4: The applicant must complete the remaining procedures as per ICA guidelines via http://www.ica.gov.sg Step 5: Every applicant must obtain an IPA In-Principal Approval from ICA to study in SP SMA. Admission to this course is subject to applicant obtaining a 'Student Pass' from ICA. Following the instructions from SMA and ICA, it is not necessary for applicants to apply for entry permit from the Singapore High Commission or Embassy in the country of residence. | |
