From 15 Sep 2025 to 13 Feb 2026, two Year 3 students Germaine Poh Kar Min and Toh Xin Ying Fiona from the Diploma in Optometry (DOPT) course took part in a 22-week Overseas Internship Attachment at Maylook Eye Hospital, Chongqing, China. They rotated through departments such as dry eye therapy, myopia management, community vision screening, visual therapy, and eye surgery. These experiences enhanced their clinical skills and gave them valuable insights into a different healthcare system. Though adapting to Mandarin clinical terminology was initially challenging, with the guidance of mentors and supervisors, they grew confident in their communication abilities.
