What You Will Learn

This SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP) is a train-and-place programme supporting mid-career individuals in acquiring industry-relevant skills to improve employability and pivot to new sectors or job roles. SCTP is suitable for individuals who are:
-   Working and seeking a new position within/outside their companies
-   Unemployed and returning to the workforce

This is an industry certification-based train and place programme, in the Green and Sustainable Data Centre domain sector. Participants are trained with essential Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills for Computer Operating System, Computer Hardware and Server System Management, Data Centre Engineering Operations, as well as Green and Sustainable Data Centre technologies.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
  1. Describe Data Centres' key business concepts and design principles.
  2. Identify Data Centre types and sub-systems.
  3. Identify key stakeholders' roles within the Data Centre ecosystem.
  4. Describe concepts of DC Planning, Design, Build, Operate (PDBO).
  5. Describe how Linux operating system powers the Cloud environment.
  6. Apply knowledge on installation, managing and troubleshooting servers.
  7. Configure and troubleshoot PC, mobile, IoT devices, operating systems, and other hardware.
  8. Describe Date Centre operations, physical infrastructure, electrical fundamentals, datacentre batteries, and generators.
  9. Apply Mechanical and Electrical Engineering concepts in Data Centre operations.
  10. Describe Energy usage in Data Centres, and key operations concepts.
  11. Describe how to design and plan Sustainability in Data Centres.
  12. Describe Data Centre Sustainability operational practices.
  13. Foster a growth mindset and develop strategies enhancing workplace effectiveness.
  14. Assess and evaluate various arguments' validity and strength.
  15. Apply creative thinking techniques to generate and evaluate solutions for complex problems.
  16. Develop compelling personal brands.
  17. Effectively present data-driven insights to support decision-making process.
  18. Combine Data Analysis and storytelling techniques to create persuasive narratives and engage diverse audiences.
