Course Objective

This course focuses on empowering participants to become confident and effective mentors through knowledge, scenario-based practice and roleplays to apply facilitation and communication skills.

Mentoring can help youth as they go through challenging life transitions, including dealing with stressful changes at home or transitioning to adulthood. Close, healthy, supportive relationships between mentors and mentees are key to the success of mentoring. Without effective and committed mentors who are well-prepared and equipped with the right skills, mentoring programmes can risk harming young people who are paired with mentors ill-equipped to meet the mentees' needs.

This course will focus on empowering participants to be confident and effective mentors through lots of scenario-based practice and roleplays where they will get to apply their facilitation and communication skills as mentors.
