Participants would be able to start their own smart hydroponics farm with technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled automation.

Course Objective

The objective of the course is to introduce participants on how smart urban farm can create a sustainable and affordable food source and they will learn how technology can drive farming effortless and increase yields. Basic farming knowledge, techniques and maintenance processes will be discussed. Participants will also learn hydroponics farming and enjoy hands-on session during the course.

Course Outline

By the end of the course, participants will be able to: 

• Identify types of farming solutions in Singapore
• Describe the life cycle of farming process
• Describe the food safety and regulations
• Demonstrate how hydroponic works and explain its benefits
• Acquire germination skills through hands-on
• Explain how to control and maintain a farming system
• Discuss on how technologies can drive smart urban farming
• Explain the basics of indoor vertical farming setup

Minimum Requirements

Basic English Literacy and Basic IT skills

Certification / Accreditation

• Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate

• Certificate of Completion (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants who pass the assessment and meet at least 75% attendance rate
