What You Will Learn

This course trains participants to efficiently operate the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) for distress, urgency, safety and routine radio communications for all Sea Areas. The proper use of on-board communication equipment, such as proper set-up of the equipment, testing radio regulations, and appreciation of its limitations are emphasised via hands-on simulation. 

By the end of the course, you will be able to:
  1. Operate a Maritime mobile communication station, as required for all sea areas
  2. Respond to Distress, Urgency, Safety, and Routine situations
  3. Apply the Principles of Search and Rescue (SAR) Communication during SAR operations
