Course Objective

This course aims preparing participants for the Class 5 Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency (COC) with the operational skills in Ship Engine Room Operation, according to training standards from International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watch Keeping for Seafarer (STCW).

More Information

Designed for Engineering diplomas graduates (or degree in Engineering), seeking an opportunity converting their skills into sea going Marine Engineers.

We also recommend that students undertake the following additional courses whilst pursuing their studies:

  1. Basic Training for service on ships subject to the IGF Code (For obtaining the Basic IGF Certificate of Proficiency (COP) issued by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore [MPA])
  2. Advanced Training for service on ships subject to the IGF Code (For obtaining the Advanced IGF Certificate of Proficiency (COP) issued by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore [MPA])
  3. Advanced Training For Handling of Methanol As Fuel For Maritime Personnel (For personnel with immediate responsibility for the care and use of methanol fuels and methanol fuel systems on Singapore Registered Ships)
