What You Will Learn

This practical one-day course equips you with knowledge and skills on coaching and mentoring approaches to identify and address their career-development needs. Designed for employees across different career stages, you will learn tips on how to reflect on career goals, seek developmental guidance and engage managers in purposeful career conversations.

Using Career Health SG’s Assess–Chart–Execute (ACE) framework, you will assess you career health, clarify your Values, Interests, Personality and Skills (VIPS), and identify priority areas for development. Distinguish how coaching and mentoring can support reflection, skill development, career decision-making and progress towards your goals.

Evaluate career pathways and determine the coaching or mentoring support needed for your chosen direction, and identify suitable approaches—such as reflective questioning, goal setting, feedback, guidance and experience sharing—and prepare to request appropriate support from your managers.

You will also formulate career-development goals and prepare for meaningful career conversations with your managers. Through guided reflection, structured activities and simulated conversations, practise communicating your aspirations and identifying the support you need. Finally, create an actionable Career Development Plan with development actions, resources, timelines, a 30-day commitment and review points.
