Course Objective
This course is conducted in accordance with International Maritime Organization Resolution MSC.560(108) requirements for minimum standard of competence in contributing to the prevention of and response to violence and harassment, including sexual harassment, bullying, and sexual assault, accepted by Director of Marine, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
More Information
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of violence, harassment, sexual harassment, bullying, and sexual assault, and understand the "continuum of harm".
- Identify the consequences of these behaviours on victims, perpetrators, bystanders, and stakeholders, including the impact on safety, health, and well-being.
- Identify contributing Factors of violence and harassment.
- Identify triggers, behavioural patterns of perpetrators, and signs exhibited by victims and bystanders.
- Apply basic procedures to intervene safely (bystander intervention) and report incidents confidentially and effectively.
- Apply trauma-informed principles to provide appropriate support to victims, bystanders, and oneself.
