A nod to the past as S’pore Poly turns 60

04 Aug 2014

The Sunday Times, 3 August 2014 - 600 SP staff, students and alumni marked the poly’s 60th anniversary with a 16km trip down memory lane. Some stops along the trail included SP’s first campus at Prince Edward Road, the former Labrador campus at the Bayanihan Centre in Pasir Panjang Road and the former Ayer Rajah campus that is now the Singapore University of Technology and Design. Former principal and alumni Mr Low Wong Fook shared his experience as a student doing his part-time masters in systems engineering in the 1970s at the Prince Edward Road campus. SP staff Mr Tan Chin Chye also recounted his experience working across the three campuses back in 1974. Another alumni, Mr Simon Soh who studied mechanical engineering from 1982 to 1985 at the old, smaller Dover Road campus reminisced at how the poly has grown to its size and strength today, from such a small campus. Similar story was shared on and Straits Times communities.
