Caregiving inspired widow to enrol at ITE

The Straits Times, 25 Jun 2014 - At the Institute of Technical Education’s (ITE) graduation ceremony yesterday, Mr Tan Kah Wee was awarded the IES Engineering Award for being the top ITE graduate with an outstanding performance in an engineering course. Mr Tan had a perfect GPA of 4 for his Nitec course but chose to do a Higher Nitec in mechatronics engineering instead of going to poly first. Graduating with a perfect GPA of 4 for his Higher Nitec, he is currently a first year student in SP’s Diploma in Mechatronics & Robotics course. Mr Tan also opined on how the Higher Nitec course has also helped me to cope well in poly. A mature nursing student, Madam Liaw who is also the Tay Eng Soon Gold Medal recipient was also featured for being one of ITE’s top graduates this year. She opined on her passion for palliative nursing and will go on to do a specialist diploma in palliative nursing at NP.
