Education Minister: Determination and perseverance is more important than paper qualifications

Lianhe Zaobao, 25 Jun 2014 - Education Minister Heng Swee Keat spoke about the importance of determination and perseverance at the Institute of Technical Education’s graduation ceremony yesterday. At the ceremony, 11 graduates were honoured with top medals. One recipient is Mr Jeremy Lau who is currently a SP Mechanical Engineering student. Mr Lau received the Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal, not just for his outstanding academic performance, but also for his contributions as the President of the Student Council and Chairman of the Aero-Design Club.
