Building up to an AI-driven green future

At the International Built Environment Week (IBEW), SP showcased its sustainability road map for the 38ha campus to achieve net-zero emissions before 2045. It has partnered leading professional services firm KPMG in Singapore to study how to drive the decarbonisation of its entire campus and co-develop its sustainability road map to drive positive and impactful change within the polytechnic, the industry and the community. It has also inked memoranda of understanding with industry leaders – including Dutch multinational AkzoNobel, decarbonisation software company Envision Digital and ProjectZero Sonderborg, an advisory office launched in 2007 in the Danish town of Sonderborg. Together with ProjectZero Sonderborg, SP will set up a ProjectZero network of entities which will share best concepts, practices, knowledge and technologies, including those implemented in Sonderborg, to grow an international network of partners. SP’s principal and chief executive Soh Wai Wah says its efforts have already helped shave 10 per cent of its energy costs so far.
