CNA938 interview with Zhi Jie Fann

SP Senior Manager Fann Zhi Jie, a recipient for this year's President's Award for Teachers, shared in this interview that it is a surreal journey in teaching. He has been designing the curriculum to help students understand design and give them real life experiences. Receiving this award is an affirmation of his efforts. He shared that working with interns gave him the idea to pay it forward. Zhi Jie created the Community of Practice where tutors come together to share thoughts on pedagogy, especially during the pandemic, to help students benefit from the continuation of pedagogy ideas. He added that all SP lectures are online which help students to go through them at their own pace, and that students are also given the opportunity to give feedback to other students and build up their own perspectives. He also shared that the Society of Interior Designers Singapore’s Students’ Charter allows students from SP, TP, NYP come together to build leadership skills.
