Digital intelligence soldiers can fight without going to the front lines

When Corporal Hong Yixuan first enlisted for National Service, he thought that he would be responsible for paperwork and spend two years of service like other full-time NSmen who are not combat fit. However, after he completed four weeks of basic military training, he was assigned to the Digital and Intelligence Service team, established at the end of last year. Hong Yixuan is also a recipient of the Polytechnic Scholarship and Merit Scholarship awarded by the DSTA. He explained that the machine learning knowledge he studied at SP was originally mainly in the field of natural language processing. After joining the digital and intelligence force, he became more interested in the field of computer vision.
