Eight in 10 people aged under 30 have yet to use SkillsFuture credits to upskill. The agency behind the national lifelong learning movement is urging more to take up courses as it keeps up efforts to make learning flexible and more accessible. SSG said that it is making efforts to make it easier for Singaporeans to access upskilling opportunities. SP Course Chair for Diploma in HR management with Psychology, Jessene Lim, noted in the interview that this figure is not worrying as of yet, and as the younger generation comes into the working world, they may not yet have the time to access their credits. She added that her poll showed her that the youths are still very motivated to learn. She advised the general public to adopt constant learning to make sure that we remain ahead of the curve to stay competitive. She suggested that companies are willing to pay for training of fresh graduates, and they may not have to use their credits as of yet. On usable knowledge and skills at polytechnics, Jessene noted that SP offers a range of experiences to ensure that students are future-ready. She added that courses on care, digital and green economy are a safe bet for those looking to safeguard their future.
