SP sets up “Green Rangers” in response to OneMillionTrees movement

21 Oct 2023

In response to the OneMillionTrees movement, SP officially established the SP Green Rangers to fulfil its commitment to sustainable development. On the morning of 21 October, 50 students from SP, under the guidance of 20 volunteers from Boon Lay District residents, planted 24 trees next to the track opposite the Khoo Kay Chai Complex. SP Green Rangers is a student committee that supports student sustainability-related initiatives and programmes. It currently has 100 members. SP’s Department of Student Development assistant director Johnny Ong shared that each student club in the polytechnic has a student leader responsible for sustainable development, who encourages members to bring their own water and reduce waste. Speaking about her views on sustainable development, Chairman of the Student Sustainability Committee, Tristal Lim, said that many companies nowadays give small gifts when holding team building activities, and she suggested that employees participate in environmental protection workshops and make their own small gifts to contribute to environmental protection.
