CLS student leaders bonded during the CLS LEAP (Foundation) Camp 2016

05 Jul 2016

On 15 March 2016, 63 committed leaders departed for Kota Tinggi, Malaysia to attend the 4 Days 3 Nights CLS LEAP (Foundation) Camp.

With a group of committed facilitators and lecturers, students were able to push themselves past their limits to become a better leader by breaking out of their comfort zone to speak up and lead by example. Through this camp, students learnt to make critical and rational decisions which helped them to develop self-awareness and at the same time, learn to understand the needs of others.

Students participated in activities which enabled them to actively engage in conversations, share their personal thoughts, experiences and apply the 7 Habits of Effective Teens in real life situations.

From strangers to friends, many valuable memories were made and friendships forged that lasted even after the camp.

“To be able to work with other leaders, to lead them and be led by them, this camp has allowed me to develop different perspectives of how things can be done. It has also allowed me to empathise with the other leaders, which helped me to better understand one of the 7 habits of Effective Teens: Seek first to understand, then to be understood. This camp has also allowed me to improve myself in other aspects, for example, self confidence.”

“This camp was a really fulfilling learning experience that has guided me to have a deeper look at myself; to realise my potential and expand my paradigm. The activities were engaging and it continuously pushed me to think out of the box with the 7 habits of Effective Teens. The camp has also equipped me with the skills and knowledge I needed to become the leader I aspire to be. Overall, the experience was very enriching, enjoyable and it will always be a memory that I would hold dear to my heart.”
