From a PSLE score of 181 to NUS Medicine

The Straits Times, 21 Dec 2017 - Article featured Tan Jun Xiang, an SP graduate who made it into Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore. His life trajectory is different from his peers at the medicine faculty, as he was a 181-point scorer in the PSLE and was in the five-year Normal stream in secondary school. He graduated at the top of his secondary school cohort, scoring nine points for his O levels. This gained him a place in SP’s Diploma in Biomedical Science. While pursuing his diploma, he realised through an internship at a hospital that he was fascinated by the human body and intrigued by the multitude of diseases. Jun Xiang shared about his motivations and aspiration to become a doctor.
